Protecting Millions of People Against Malaria in Chad

In the village of Kelo, Chad, Veronique rests under her newly installed insecticide-treated net, collected earlier in the day at a villagedistribution event. Her one-year-old child Haltaguin had malaria last year, but received treatment in time and survived. With the new net and the instructions that come with it, Veronique can feel more secure about her baby having the protection she needs against mosquitoes at night. The Government of Chad, with support from the Global Fund and UNICEF, launched a national campaign last year to distribute nearly 7.3 million mosquito nets throughout the country, with the aim to reach every family and person at risk of getting infected with malaria.
